Providence Stadium 8 is preparing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens by hiring ten new staff members for the premier, on Dec. 17, and additional showings.

“Opening night is going to be really busy,” said Emily Shepherd, a team member at Providence Stadium.

Amber Farrow, an assistant manager at the theater, said the premier of Star Wars is going to be the biggest opening Providence Stadium has seen in a while and that is the reason the management had to hire more staff members.

“We hired the additional ten people for the premier but we are always busy during the holidays so they will be needed,” Farrow said.

Providence Stadium has been selling tickets for future Star Wars show times.

“We have already sold 3,000 tickets for all showings so far,” Farrow said. “We are still expecting more people to buy tickets before opening night.”

The theater will have multiple showings the early morning of Dec. 18.

“Our 1 a.m. showing is sold out already,” Farrow said. “We will be showing until 3 a.m. so it will be a long busy night.”

Farrow said four showrooms have been reserved by companies will be taken for private screenings.
